Well, I finally saw one of these in the flesh (so to speak). Scientist that she is, cousin R. has one on display on her kitchen table. She mentioned something about fibonacci, but I neglected to ask for an explanation in the rush of late-night catch-up.
I wonder if anyone actually eats these, or if they all end up as sculptural adornment? (Would the Italians do the same with our cauliflower? I doubt it!)
